100 miles for Macmillan Cancer Research!
Our mission has always been to encourage & inspire others around us to be their best.
As a recruitment agency, we can inspire change and others to do good in the workplace and in society.
We interviewed our Account Specialist, Anna Hryniewicz who is currently taking part in the 100 miles challenge throughout October to raise money for individuals living with Cancer.
What is the 100-mile run challenge?
100 Miles in October is a fundraising challenge for MacMillian. You can complete your miles however you like – run, walk, or a bit of both. The important thing is to get out and get moving for better mental health.
Why did you choose to raise money for Macmillan?
Anna wanted to support her co-workers and family in a more “personal” way – like many others across the world she has loved ones who are living with cancer. She has seen the hope MacMillian has brought to so many people’s lives.
What training have you undertaken to complete the 100-mile challenge?
None – initially it started off with walking the Dog. To begin with, he was the one who encouraged her to go out for walks and as time went on it was Anna who was encouraging him to go out for walks.
As Anna said, “I guess the only training is having a clear mind – keeping positive throughout my walks.”
What advice would you give to the next person who wants to try this challenge?
There’s no advice she could give. Anna simply said ‘just do it’.
The benefits of walking are plenty and real… start off small and keep pushing yourself – “if you want to do something there are no limits”
What lesson can you take away from this experience?
“If you want to do something there are no limits”
“There’s always hope” – especially with charities like MacMillian who dedicate their entire existence to saving lives.
How will you celebrate completing your 100-mile challenge?
Anna will be sharing her achievement with her MacMillan group and celebrate their collective success, as it is all about a good cause.
We are extremely proud of Anna for taking part in this challenge and if you would like to support her, you can donate here > https://www.facebook.com/donate/146023147718868/
