We’ve expanded our ports offering to include The Port of Tilbury

The Port of Tilbury is located on the Lower Thames and is the largest Port on the River, handling over 20 million tonnes per annum. Leading this expansion is our Business Manager Tom Donnelley.

We are working closely with our clients to support with their recruitment on the Port. If you know anyone who lives in the area and is looking for work on the Port please advise them to get in touch with the team via tilbury@stafforce.co.uk or call 07880 382538

At Stafforce, we are committed to treating workers fairly and upholding our obligations both ethically and legally is paramount to us. We therefore actively encourage agency workers to notify us if they have questions or concerns so that we may provide appropriate support.

In this issue, as a reminder, we would like to raise awareness of Modern Slavery and the indicators of hidden labour exploitation.

You need to watch out for the signs of modern slavery or exploitation:

Are you…

  • paying anyone for a job or for preferential shifts?
  • being forced to work when or where you don’t want to?
  • told you must be taken and collected from work by a specific person and that you cannot refuse these lifts?
  • told to use someone else’s mobile phone number for contact so that they can make decisions on hours worked?
  • living in a house of multiple occupancies where the other residents are not your family members and you are not free to choose to move out?
  • being controlled or physically/mentally abused?
  • able to make friends and choose to socialise with other workers?
  • receiving all of your wages as detailed on your payslip or are you given a minimal amount to live on by someone controlling your money?

Have you?

  • had your bank card or Right to Work documents taken from you by someone else and withheld?
  • got no control or access to your own wages?
  • had your registration documents completed by someone else who has provided an email address, contact number, next of kin and payment details on your behalf that you have not chosen and/or you do not have access to?
  • been told what details to provide as your email address, emergency contact or next of kin?

If you answer yes to any of the above and are concerned that you or a team member may be a victim, please make sure you speak to our Compliance team or your Stafforce representative confidentially. You can also report it via the NAvigate+ app via ‘My Work > Incident Reporting‘. Fill in the form and submit.
