Job Description and Requirements

As a leader in the growing chilled and frozen retail seafood sector, the clients range of products continue to exceed customers&x2019; expectations and they have an expanding client portfolio. Due to expansion and rapidly growing business an opportunity has now arisen for a Production Planning Manager to join their Grimsby based team.

You will report directly into the Head of Operations and will lead the planning function to manage, develop and improve the planning processes, and to drive business performance. You will also be a member of the Senior Management Team.

Your duties will include ensuring that planned production achieves the most cost effective utilisation of line time, labour, materials and packaging. To ensure effective communication of promotions and product changes to the Production Team. To work with NPD to ensure new products are planned effectively to achieve launch volumes. Identify saving opportunities and provide direction and coaching to the planning team. Ensure that the best practice process design optimises the balance between customer service, equipment availability, inventory stock levels and disposals. The integrity of data used in the planning systems is being pro-actively assured to enable the effective operation of the planning process. You will need to manage and develop the Planning Team to ensure effective performance.

The successful candidate ideally would have had a minimum 2years of working in a FMCG environment and in a Production Planning Manager role or similar.
You will have the ability to interface effectively with the customer, understand the requirements and influence how these are realised.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing transformation process and the technical/food safety constraints.
Have a comprehensive understanding of best practice for the whole Planning process. Knowledge of the planning systems required to support the Planning process example Pre-actor.
Have the leadership skills to manage and motivate the planning team, and to influence peers and superiors.
You will need to have a good understanding of all the internal business processes and proactively participate with others in the business to ensure smooth running of Production and minimise disruption to service levels.
You must be a highly motivated self started with excellent communications skills.
